Go on reading. I had the same reaction as you had but it's a great story and some change after "Suzuka" and "Kimi No Iru Machi" were basically the same.(Both still recommendable if you're a fan of over exaggerated drama) Also: Suzuka is technically the one you should read before "Fuuka" so if you haven't, you know what to do.
